Genomics

Genomics is the branch of molecular biology studying the structure, function, evolution and mapping of genes and genomes. It applies recombinant DNA, DNA sequencing and bioinformatics techniques to map and analyze the function and structure of an organisms entire genetic code. Analyzing all genes and their associations allows scientists to learn how they affect the development and growth of an organism. Genomics has many applications including drug discovery and targeting, DNA fingerprinting and disease prevention. Alfa Aesar provides a range of chemical reagents that can be used for genomics research.
